About the Artist
Shannon Skinner creates paper collages that feel like paintings — rich in color, texture and imagination. Her work celebrates the beauty of fine art papers from around the world, often drawing inspiration from floral still lifes (especially Dutch Old Masters) and 18th-century French balloons.
With a love of color and patterns, Shannon was drawn to the paper arts in childhood with paper dolls and other crafts. She studied art in high school and college before following a different path and becoming a lawyer. Now retired, she’s returned to her creative roots, discovering paper collage as the perfect medium for her eye for detail and love of design.
A Pacific Northwest native, Shannon lives in the Seattle area, where she explores decorative paper collage — one finely cut petal at a time.
