A Few Favorite Things

$275.00

I love still lifes that tell a story.  By including specially chosen objects, the artist tells a story in addition to making beautiful art.  We’re invited to look more closely at a weathered leather book, a porcelain bowl with ripened fruit or a nosegay in a glass vase.  We look at the fine details in these objects and wonder about the story they tell. In this piece, I’ve included a few of my favorite things.  The hydrangeas are in a cachepot purchased in Strasbourg on a memorable trip; the hymnal and pocket watch belonged to my great great grandparents and the tea caddies are family heirlooms.  The still life within this still life (on the wall) is an homage to Renoir’s “Still Life with Peaches,” with its luminous fruit and richly textured wallpaper.

Each print is part of a limited edition of 50.
Available in 14 in. x 17 in. (image size: 11.5 in. x 14.5 in., with a 1 1/4 in. margin all around).
