Balloon Over Florence
Imagine that the Montgolfier brothers drifted southeasterly from Paris into Italy, where their balloon was called a “mongolfiera,” and then floated over Florence. This beautiful and ancient city, overflowing with the rich and breathtaking art of the Renaissance, continues to provide inspiration to artists from around the world. This piece was inspired by my trip to Florence to celebrate the wedding of dear friends in a hillside villa with a stunning view of the Duomo in the distance. The art of beloved children’s book author Tomie de Paolo, whose delightful illustrations capture the charm of an Italian hill town, also provided inspiration. I can almost see Strega Nona inviting the villagers into the toy store!
Each print is part of a limited edition of 100.
Available in two sizes:
14 in. x 17 in. (image size: 12 in. x 15 in., with a 1 in. margin all around)
11 in. x 14 in. (image size: 10 in. x 12.5 in., with 0.5 in. side margins and 0.75 in. top and bottom margins)
