Spring Bouquet
Spring is my favorite season and along with it, the flowers that spring brings. Daylight lingers a little longer and the earth reawakens after its winter hibernation. With the promise of just a bit more sunshine and warmth, tulips, daffodils and primroses brave the still chilly nights to send up their blooms. April is peak tulip month, and this so bouquet was inspired by the April print, with its many tulips, in the Twelve Months of Flowers published in 1730 by Robert Furber. Furber, a London nurseryman, commissioned the hand-colored prints to advertise the seeds and plants for sale at his Kensington nursery. A bouquet can’t have too many tulips!
Each print is part of a limited edition of 50 and is lightly embellished with gold pen by the artist. Prints are signed and numbered by the artist.
Available in 11 in. x 14 in. (image size: 9.5 in. x 12.5 in., with a .75 in. margin all around).
